The East Side Highway Corridor Study, which began in 2007, examined the need for a transportation facility on the east side of Bloomington-Normal. The Corridor Study identified a single feasible 500’ wide corridor that would serve the needs of anticipated growth on the east side of the Bloomington-Normal community. The location of a specific alignment within this 500’ corridor was not determined. The Context Sensitive Solution (CSS) approach to public involvement was used throughout the Corridor Study.
The 2009 Corridor Report includes the study’s Purpose & Need, alternative analysis process, preferred corridor, and identifies areas for more detailed analysis to be completed during the EA.
